Facebook have announced this week that they are rolling out new features to users in the US and Canada. The latest features will allow organizations to post jobs and prospective job seekers find and apply to them through Facebook. Geared towards volume recruitment rather than specialist, strategic roles, given their almost 2 billion monthly active users, the 'Facebook hiring solution' would appear an attractive proposition for their target market.
For now, this new new feature is designed to support high volume recruitment, although, if it takes off, might Facebook try to expand their offering to cater for more specialized, strategic roles?
“We’re taking the work out of hiring by enabling job applications directly on Facebook,” Andrew Bosworth, Facebook’s VP of business and platform, said in a statement. “It’s early days but we’re excited to see how people use this simple tool to get the job they want and for businesses to get the help they need.”
