Really interesting article on the work Virgin Media did to tackle the $6M dent in revenue created as a result of them losing customers who had a bad candidate experience. But your ability to hire top talent is impacted as many would never seek employment at the company again and would tell others not to work there. A lesson for all from this, not just for big consumer brands.
Brands with world-class customer service could be victims of their own success. Failing to provide the same experience for candidates, and the disparity between the two, is losing some brands millions of dollars each year. In 2015, high volumes of hiring unfortunately also equated to upsetting over 7,500 customer applicants enough to motivate them to cancel their contracts and sign up with competitors instead. These numbers were estimated to be worth over $6 million of lost revenue each year.
